This is the site of Girl Scout Troop 116 of the Girl Scout Council of Greater Long Beach. We're members of the Girl Scouts of the USA, of the program age level formerly known as "Seniors".
The design at the left side of the page is the troop logo, and appears on our troop T-shirt. It consists of a monkey waving a pennant with "TP 116" on it. The monkey is in a palm tree on a small island in the ocean. (Our camp names appear on the back of the shirts.)
Our most recent big activity was a Whitewater Rafting trip on the Kern River (mixed classes from 2 to 4). We've posted photos taken of our rafts as they went over Class 3 rapids (We have lots of other photos, but haven't decided what we want to do with them.) Some of us decided it was fun, thankyouverymuch, and weren't particularly interested in doing that again. Some wanted to do more rapids at that level; a few wanted to know if we could go up to Class 5 (the answer is no, per Safety-Wise).
